About

BLAKALASKA was formed as a project in 2014 by five friends and prior bandmates with diverse musical backgrounds but a shared passion for creating and performing exciting, original crossover music.

The band have developed a sound which fuses elements of rock, pop, dubstep, dance, trip hop and d’n’b but refuses to be chained too closely to any of them. With a strong live performance ethic and a string of highly-energised and highly-rated shows under their belts, BLAKALASKA have turned their attention to the recording studio in 2017.

Drums

Triggering layers of drum samples and sliced loops into a constantly evolving array of angular beats and counter rhythms.

Lee Rosete

Vocals

Cooly holding command with dynamic, silky vocal hooks that soar above the heavy rhythms.

Weapons: Microphone, eye contact
Strengths: Fearless, dynamic
Weakness: Can't resist shiny things

Oliver Farrimond

Guitar

Shimmering anthemic guitar tones gradually build and multiply before exploding and crumbling triumphantly into a cascade of sonic euphoria.

Strengths: Adventurous, creative
Weakness: Unpredictable, dangerous, needs space on stage

Joe Langlois

Bass

Gluing everything together with rolling tectonic bass lines to provide a deep hypnotic groove.
